Description
This is the perfect option if you’re curious about scuba diving but not ready to commit to a full certification course.
- What it is: A supervised introduction to scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI or SSI professional. It’s not a certification, but it allows you to experience breathing underwater and explore the marine environment.
- What to expect:
- Briefing: Your instructor will explain basic scuba diving theory, equipment use, and essential safety guidelines (e.g., hand signals, mask clearing, regulator recovery).
- Shallow Water Practice: You’ll practice skills in a pool or very shallow, calm water to get comfortable with the gear and breathing underwater.
- Open Water Dive(s): You’ll then go for one or two supervised dives in the ocean, typically to a maximum depth of 12 meters (around 40 feet). You’ll be closely guided by your instructor.
- Duration: 20 minutes
- Requirements:
- Minimum age: Generally 10 years old.
- Good physical health (you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire).
