Description

Ayung River Rafting

  • Location: Flows through the jungles and rice paddies around Ubud.
  • Rapids: Generally Class II-III rapids, which means they are exciting but still safe and suitable for beginners, families, and children (usually aged 7+).
  • Scenery: Known for its stunning natural beauty, including lush rainforests, towering cliffs, hidden waterfalls (where you might stop for a quick dip), and intricate stone carvings along the riverbanks depicting scenes from the Ramayana.
  • Duration: The actual rafting on the river typically lasts about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, covering a distance of around 10-12 kilometers.
  • Accessibility: Most operators have good access points, though there might be a walk down a significant number of stairs to reach the starting point and an uphill climb at the end.
  • Experience: It’s a great blend of adventure, nature, and a touch of Balinese culture. You’ll get wet!
